Jim has two primary responsibilities within Braver. He is Director of Entrepreneurial and Emerging Growth Business of Braver P.C. and also leads the Financial Planning Practice Group as executive vice president of Braver Wealth Management, Inc.
Jim has significant experience servicing large wholesale and retail accounts and service experience including directing financial audit engagements, and bankruptcy administration. Jim’s financial planning background provides a dynamic link between the closely held business and the needs of the family owners. Jim offers full financial planning capabilities including estate, retirement and investing and other wealth management services.
Prior to joining the Braver, Jim worked for O'Toole & Company, CPA's in Boston. In 1987 he transferred to Tofias, P.C., where he was promoted to senior accountant. In 1990, he joined Braver where he has been a shareholder since 1998.
Jim holds a Masters in Taxation from Bentley College and a bachelors' degree in Accounting and Economics from Boston College. Jim is a member of the Personal Financial Planning of the MSCPA, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the United States - N.E. Chapter and the Boston Estate Planning Council. Jim is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
